two cups of hot chocolate

We have a lot of rum (both light and dark) in the house, leftover from Hurricane making from a Mardi Gras party. So I’ve challenged myself to make more rum drinks. Stay tuned for the rum old fashioned…

Rum Hot Chocolate
Total time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2

2 cups whole milk
2.5 ounces bittersweet chocolate (I used Tcho 60-something %)
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 pinches cinnamon
pinch salt
2 shots dark rum, or to taste

Heat milk over medium-low, don’t bring to a boil. Whisk in chocolate, then cocoa powder, cinnamon and salt. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Yum.

Update: You know, I said stay tuned for the rum old fashioned, but I made them last week and we don’t have any more oranges. So here’s the recipe. Mark said it was like a Hurricane.
