Tonight we had pan fried fish (frozen barramundi), braised leeks (more than a week old and shriveling) and potatoes (not refrigerated but growing eyes), and charred broccoli (getting limp).<\/p>\n<p>While everything was good, and maybe even better for using things on the brink of becoming garbage, the broccoli was a stand-out.<\/p>\n<p>I tossed broccoli spears in a little olive oil, a few dashes of balsamic vinegar, sprinkles of salt and pepper.
