Sometimes we have something frozen, but more often than not, fish night means something from a can, usually tuna melts or salmon patties. Last night it was tuna melts!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/leighadactyl\/13135887805\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sandwich with salad and potatoes\" src=\"https:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2122\/13135887805_174fdf6681.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<!--more keep reading...--><br \/>\nI don&#8217;t have a recipe for tuna salad, just tuna, mayo and whatever is in our fridge that seems good. We also had crash hot potatoes. There are &#8220;recipes&#8221; for this all over the internet, but I think I first learned of it <a href=\"http:\/\/thepioneerwoman.com\/cooking\/2008\/06\/crash-hot-potatoes\/\">here<\/a>. Basically: steam, boil or bake your potatoes, smash them, bake them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leighadactyl.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/crash_potatoes.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leighadactyl.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/crash_potatoes.gif\" alt=\"crash_potatoes\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Everything was a bit soggier than I would have liked, I think I over-steamed the potatoes and maybe the bread was too soft to stand up to the tuna salad.
